Honey Hill Hostas

Hosta plants are ideal shade garden plants with their myriad shapes, colors and sizes.
They are relative newcomers to the western world, being native to the Far East. The genus
hosta is thought to consist of at least 40 species but there are many more than 1,000
cultivars with new and exciting plants being registered each year. In the list to follow, you
will find a sampling of hundreds of the best.

Jerry Hadrava, owner of The Blooming Hill, passed away in the fall of 2007. Many of the
plants I offered in the past came from that location. As the property will be sold and
probably redeveloped, no plants will be available from that location from now on. I have
pared down my list to reflect only the plants I have at my location. I intend to concentrate
on my own hybrids and will be selling off most of my other hostas.

Mail order plants offered on this website are field-grown plants. Due to neighborhood
covenants, Honey Hill gardens cannot be open to the public for walk-in business purposes.
Customers in the Cedar Rapids/Marion area can pick up or have their orders delivered.
Otherwise, orders will be shipped USPO Priority mail or US Parcel Service, depending on
weight of shipment.

Plants are inspected by the State of Iowa annually.
